Psychologists approach Mental Health from a different perspective and have to attain a degree of Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) or Masters. Highest education is Ph.D. in Psychology.
Psychiatrist may prescribe medicine on consultation of patient depending upon symptoms while Psychologist emphasis on therapeutic approach for recovery. A Psychologist uses various combined methods like Counselling, Therapy, Behavioural Modification etc, for overall recovery. Psychologist work on overall thought process and modification so that patient can cope up with their problem on their own.
A Psychiatrist mainly focus on medication depending upon condition of patient.
A Psychologist treats a patient in such a manner so that Individual can solve their Psychological problems on their own in future, if they follow advise of psychologist seriously.
